Grounding (Earthing)
Grounding (or Earthing) is a term that means re-centering and reconnecting with the Earth. It is the process of absorbing earth’s free flowing electrons from its surface through the soles of one’s feet. It is done by reconnecting your body with the free electrons that flow through the Earth’s surface. It is as easy as walking barefoot outdoors.
Our day-to-day activities build up a positive charge in the body. Earth naturally has an endless supply of negative electrons. When you walk barefoot on the earth, you return your body to a neutrally charged state. Anytime anything in your life feels as though it could use more balance, grounding is a good idea. Grounding is also helpful for Empaths when they take on energy that is not your own and can also be a useful tool when dealing with anxiety. When you are not grounded, you may feel: dazed, disconnected, flighty, lightheaded, shaky, tired, or like you are floating. These feelings and sensations can happen when you’ve got excess energy running through your system.
When we are grounded, we will feel: calm, alert, focused, present, centered, strong, less tense, balanced, less stressed and peaceful. When you’re grounded, you’re in complete control of your mental and emotional self.
